Not a "breed bashing" page, but a buyer's education page! You decide what problems/maintenance issues you are more likely to face when choosing "your" breed!
Q: Why was the average cost of owning a dog for 10 years in the U.S. recently estimated to be $13,500.00?
A: Because so many puppy buyers are so childish they will buy their pet because of the way it looks only, or because they are in love with a preconceived ownership issue. Many puppy buyers unknowingly become victims of their emotions when they think some pets with potentially expensive ownership issues are cutest! They fall in love with types of pets that are more likely to have specific health problems or maintenance issues later in life. Many also fall victim to thinking pets with issues have the best personality. In reality, some of the purebred puppies that seem to be the sweetest may not be intelligent enough to realize that it never met you before. These are the pets that are more often harder to housetrain. This video talks about ownership issues and is intended to improve the chances that you love the dog next year that you thought cutest today!
