We offer a better care standard to make sure your child's first puppy kiss is a safe one, and to improve the chances that you are not one of those pet buyers who spend more at the vet next week than you paid for your puppy (yes, most of those buyers thought they could buy a puppy for less than the veterinary care alone should have cost the seller. The end result was a pet that did not get proper veterinary care.) This is why the cheapest puppy bought from an inexperienced caregiver is not always the cheapest puppy.

A high percentage of visitors to this site look at the pictures and refuse to consider this material. These are the pet owners who are more likely to unknowingly choose a pet that they are uncomfortable maintaining and are not happy with later after calling me to ask "how much" with their first breath, choose a breed that's harder to housetrain, or one that is too small; and therefore more likely to die of liver/kidney disease at 2 years old. The least intelligent person in the world is the one who thinks he already knows everything and is finished with learning.
This web site will try to teach you that the most important factor in not spending megabucks on a pet is to begin your search by not being in love with a past pet/photo of an unwise choice. This web site is a good source of ownership education, with our goal being to help you decide what issues are the most important to you, and improve the chances that you love the pet next year that you thought was cute today.

After dealing with pet owners since 1982, I have learned that most people look at puppies, buy the cutest and cheapest one, and almost never think of ownership issues that are likely to occur later in the life of the pet.
